Facilities

The hall is an outstanding venue for private functions/parties, regular user groups and community functions which visitors never forget.

  • We recommend maximum capacity - 90 people

  • Underfloor heating throughout the building.

  • Wi-Fi

  • Projection screen with remote control.

  • Staging and tiered seating for 54 people plus 4 rows of 9 chairs on the floor in front.

  • Sound system with four wall mounted speakers, loop system for hearing impaired and mixer unit taking a range of sources including, mp3 player connection, radio microphones both hand held and headset.

  • Equipment for regular user groups is kept in a large store room off the main hall.

  • A range of physical activities can take place including, dancing, badminton (single court), carpet bowls, table tennis, exercise classes, yoga, pilates etc.

Theatre and Projection Facilities

  • Lantern lighting with wireless control unit normally located in the meeting room, which has a one way glass for viewing the stage.

  • Performances can be made on the floor and or with flexible interconnecting staging.

  • Sound system and projection facilities referred to earlier.

  • Two changing rooms with dedicated toilet facilities and mirrors are located behind the stage.

  • A corridor behind the stage gives three points of access to the stage area: left, right and off-centre right and the changing rooms.

Kitchen

  • Large serving hatch and doors enter directly to main hall and small meeting room.

  • Five hob induction cooker with double oven and separate grill. Induction hobs require suitable pans i.e. metal based, such as stainless steel or cast iron. Suitable pans and trays are available.

  • Hyroboil for a supply of hot water, suitable for making hot drinks.

  • Two fridges.

  • A commercial dishwasher with very short cleaning cycle.

  • Crockery, cutlery and wine glasses sufficient for 90 settings.

  • We do have recycling facilities, but there are only the same as a private domestic dwelling. We therefore ask people if they have a large amount of recycling etc. following a private function, to take it away if at all possible.

Meeting Room

  • Large enough for 10 people sitting.

  • Main controls for lighting and sound systems are normally located here.

  • One way glass permits viewing the main hall and, in particular, the normal location for the stage area.

  • Accessible from the main entrance without having to enter the main hall. Useful if something else is happening in the main hall.

  • The kitchen can also be accessed directly from the meeting room.

Fowlis Easter Hall Defibrillator

Thanks to a substantial donation from the Marshall family, generous contributions from Muirhead Birkhill and Liff Community Council, Fowlis Hall Committee and St John Scotland there is a community defibrillator in Fowlis.

A support group has been formed “Defibrillator Guardians” to take ownership and carry out the necessary weekly monitoring. This group will also manage the ongoing fundraising required to pay for replacement contact pads and batteries.

Defibrillator accessible 24/7

Defibrillator training sessions will be organised once it is safe to do so following Government Guidelines.

CAR PARKING

  • On site there is room for 30 cars in unmarked bays as well as a reserved area for 2 disabled drivers. More can be arranged.

  • Public car parking is also available approximately 100m down the road.

  • Automatic flood lighting of the car park and main entrance door on arrival and departure.

Toilets & Cloakroom

  • Male, female and disabled with child changing facilities are accessed via the vestibule, giving immediate access to both the main hall and the car park area.

  • Two more toilets, one in each of the changing rooms, are also available.

  • Coat hooks are located in the main vestibule.
